  11. This is so beautiful and I love the quote. I have been reading a book on how to watercolour (still learning) and they were talking about using rock salt to get the white 'splot' effect like yours. Is that what you used?

    1. Yes, I used salt, but it was just regular fine table salt on this one. However, rock salt (or any salt that needs to be ground) give a varied and very interesting effect too, due to the differing sizes of the salt granules. However, if your paint is too dry or too wet when you apply the salt(a problem I often have), the results are disappointing. Timing is important.

    The bookmark and the quote are brilliant.

    Although I haven't really taken up using watercolours yet...I use salt when silk painting.

  18. kewl bookmark...great job...I tried salt once, but I was tooooo impatient for it to try so I used a "heat gun"...cooked the salt right into the paper....Oops!...
