  4. Is Minnemie your real name? There must be an interesting story behind that! I loved your interview, especially this part: (But let's not stop to ponder then what the wife and mother "before painting" was like ;-o) It's good to be able to laugh at ourselves! I love your Aslan watercolor- I am impressed with the layers of colors! Awesome! (But let's not stop to ponder then what the wife and mother "before painting" was like ;-o)

    1. Yes, Minnemie is my real name:-)Sort of. It is not on my birth certificate, but I have never been called anything else. My legal names are Milde Hymne - German names that belong to my my mother and grandma respectively. My (very creative) mom played with letters from those two names and came up with Minnemie to be my "real" name. It has always been a confusing name to new friends, but life has gotten much more complicated for me since Austin Powers corrupted it for me:-) But actually, it is not quite pronounced like his Minnie-Me. "Minnemie" sounds a little more like the french "mon amie". But really, I answer to anything with an "M". People have been very creative through the years with my name: shortening it, changing it, rhyming it, adding to it. I lean toward being an introvert, so my name tends to be a welcome conversation starter when my shy-self is immersed into a new crowd:-)

    2. Oh don't mind my answer to your email! This reminds me of the name we came up for our store which is a combination of the first syllables of my sisters' and brother's names-papemelroti! We were very young then, and my dad said no one would remember it, and no one would be able to pronounce it. But it's been 36 years now and it's still going strong! Patsy from

    1. OH Neesie I totally do not mind being called Min! I was "Minne" all through my school years and shortened it myself to Mx a while ago - less letters to type:-)
