watercolor
"Each of us," I said to myself,
"gets to thinking of himself as the center of the universe...
Now, it is evident that we can't all be centers.
There aren't enough universes to go around.
If we keep on trying it,
I can see nothing ahead of us but celestial collisions -
and chaos...
How shall we all learn to live together agreeably...?
And how can we do that
unless we understand one another?

This is a very interesting point you've illustrated in your watercolor. I see it as all of us merging in one body through Christ, where everyone is responsible for a certain area. No part can be considered more important, since if one is missing or fails, the others will be affected. Of course, this is just my humble opinion. Blessings!
ReplyDeleteAnother great quote and fantastic painting from you!
ReplyDeleteI feel as if I am looking at pebbles in a stream. Lovely! And your quote is thought provoking.
ReplyDeleteFabulous painting, before I read the quote I was thinking that this is something vast, universal and celestial! Great piece!
ReplyDeleteA wonderful painting and the thought attached has a lot of depth to it...beautiful!
ReplyDeletesmashing work. Happy PPF, Annette x
ReplyDeleteGreat painting! Goes so well with the quote!
ReplyDeleteMarvelous watercolor and post ~ Wow! ~ (A Creative Harbor)
ReplyDeleteThis is so beautiful. I love the gorgeous colors and interesting textures. Wow! Beautiful quote, too.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful and thought provoking. Your painting today makes my mind wander to a distant stream, rippling along on a sunny day -
ReplyDeleteI love the quote you've chosen and the painting is compelling and beautiful! Love this post through and through. Happy PPF!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, ethereal painting.
ReplyDeleteI love the painting, and then I read the quote and they go so beautifully together! Lovely post!
ReplyDeletebeautiful watercolor rendering and wonderful sentiment to go with it! Happy PPF!
ReplyDeleteGiven the collisions we achieve by being self-centred is nicely shown in the painting and the narrative ... if you will excuse the coined pun, you portray a 'collidescope!' rather than a kaleidoscope
ReplyDeletebeautiful piece and lovely words to go with it!
ReplyDeleteI love that colour combination... it always reminds me of home.. the blues and reddy browns... maybe not quite what you were aiming for, but stunning and evocative none the less... xx
ReplyDeleteOh I love this abstract watercolor with its blues and browns and repeating and varying circles!
ReplyDeleteOne of my favorites of yours so far! :)
♥♥♥
Happy PPF!!

Great text and wonderful and creative watercolor, love this fabulous piece of creativity !
ReplyDeleteIs this one yours too> WOW! Another wow! You are so talented in every way, Hugs to you and the gang.
ReplyDeleteI've always believed that understanding is a profound connection between our minds and our soul. But, one should start from oneself in order to understand the world. Not as a centre, but as a part of the whole. Brilliant painting to go with a sensitive post!
ReplyDeleteHope everything's good dear minnemie! Sorry for being neglectfull lately, but big changes are happening right now in my little universe... :)
A hug.
It takes time and living to shed our egocentric orientations, but eventually we do grow up and out and are able to walk in others' shoes. By the way, there is nothing crippled about your pencil. Wonderful drawing. Wonderful observation.
ReplyDeleteAdore the quote and perfect painting, a great duo.

ReplyDeleteBeautiful watercolour - so subtle and delicate in colour and line. I love the composition too - all those round shapes spinning and bursting out - and the lines piercing through the middle.

ReplyDeleteUnderstanding one another is the biggest gift I can think of and the most difficult to do. The painting is amazing and though provoking. Blessings, Janet, PPF
ReplyDeleteThis is stunning - you've captured the glint of light on the top of the water perfectly - I think it must be such a difficult thing to paint but you've totally mastered it. That prose is very thought provoking - it sounds like something out of the type of books I like to read about the evolution of man and the planet and how we need to co-exist with all life forms instead of destroying them! I'm off to google what it's from!
ReplyDeleteInteresting piece..It loooks so magical and fantastic that I feel like entering this beautiful painting.Great job and your words are really quite inspiring!
