growing up

“They keep coming up new all the time -
things to perplex you, you know.

You settle one question
and there's another right after.
There are so many things
to be thought over and decided
when you're beginning to grow up.
It keeps me busy all the time
thinking them over
and deciding what's right.
It's a serious thing to grow up, isn't it, Marilla?”

  11. Gosh, I think you should change your blog name, there is nothing crippled about your pencil! This little girl is so full of emotion! Just gorgeous watercolour technique here! Anne of Green Gables is one of my all time favourite books. Anne is so right about growing up and decision making! It was wonderful to see the progress!

Your rendering of lights and shadows is masterful. Love the progress pics.

  21. i learned so much from looking at your progress photos. i paint in acrylics and have been afraid of watercolor but i see that you can paint in layers, gradually adding more and more color. such a lovely painting. thank you for sharing today.

  23. Such a beautiful post and how true. I love the picture and thanks so much for showing the stages. I'm so lost with water colour and it really helps to see how a pro does it.
    Have a great weekend.

  24. Incredible post Minnemie. It was fantastic to see your painting come to life. Now I'd like to know more about her.
I've got so much to learn when it comes to using water colours.
It's also lovely to see you painting once more...I've missed you.
Now if you can manage to paint then I know I must find some time too. I have no excuse.
Thank you for the inspiration...I needed it ;D
