broken whole

“...if you could make a beautiful piece of art
from discarded newspapers
and old matchbooks,
[and shattered smartphone screens]

then it meant that
everything
had
potential

And maybe people were like collages-
no matter how
broken

or
useless
we felt,

we were
an
essential
part
of
the
whole.
We mattered.”

  20. Oh my! This was very exciting! I had them enlarged when I scrolled down. And when I came to the lasr photo I thought ii's a big bird where ithe bird's eye came to be the zebra's nose!! Because I studied the bottom of the photo first, and then I even so parts of the wings! I did not see the zebra. And I scrolled up and down again. When I came to the last photo again, the bird was gone!! I could not understand! A creepy feeling sort of.. ...Now I saw only the zebra and not the bird! Where did the bird go, I thougt, seriously!
I had to write about this, because it was such an odd feeling.

You are marvelous, this is a very creative and stunning work! And it is so very vivid!
I will not forget this one by the first, tjat's for sure. And so well-choosed words to the painting!

    Gorgeous!

    1. I love hearing your thoughts and how you processed this piece, Viola! That is part of the beauty of art... interpretation is so varied through the context and the eye of the beholder.:-)

  21. So very vivid, ie I thought your work was made of smart phone screen, I did not realize you had painted it at first.
your work really surprised me in many ways, ie gave me a wakening more than one times ..

    1. Well, actually it is made of broke smart phone screens:-) But what a great idea to paint in such a style! However, that kind of hyper-realism would be waaayyyy beyond my abilities:-)
