through the shadows
watercolor
“You can only come to the morning through the shadows.”
Totally gorgeous beast! A yak? He seems sad. Or maybe life is just hard for a yak. It looks cold. I hope he has friends nearby. Because everyone should have friends nearby. I hope you are well! I hope you post another soon. :D
I've missed you too. This painting is like a dream state - half real and half spirit animal. He is really gorgeous. I hope the fall brings lots of painting time for you. We need to see your art! M.x
What beautiful use of shadow and light! Truly awe inspiring! I've never seen such boldness with watercolor. And your quotes are very thought provoking as well. Thank you for sharing your wonderful work with the world!

Hey! You sneaked this one in when I wasn't looking! It's totally fantastic. You've caught that look of sadness in the eyes that they seem to have ... bowed down with the weight and woes of the animal-world.
We're both back, painting, in Africa at the moment. High-Five!
How did I miss this post? I've missed seeing you in blogland - you tease us with these stunning pieces every so often with a poignant quote attached! This is gorgeous and John describes the look in his/her eyes perfectly. World weary.
