“If the stars should appear one night in a thousand years,
how would men believe and adore;
and preserve for many generations
the remembrance of the city of God
which had been shown!
But every night come out these envoys of beauty,
and light the universe
with their admonishing smile.”
― Ralph Waldo Emerson, Nature and Selected Essays

The heavens declare the glory of God;
the skies proclaim the work of his hands.
Day after day they pour forth speech;
night after night they reveal knowledge.
They have no speech, they use no words;
no sound is heard from them.
Yet their voice goes out into all the earth,
their words to the ends of the world.
~ King David

ReplyDeleteSuch a fun painting, Minnemie!!
ReplyDeleteYour painting is beautiful!! Love the scripture and the Emerson quote to go with it. ♥
ReplyDeleteLove the poem and the painting. That's what I was trying to do but my salt didn't want to play. Your night sky is beautiful.

This is a treasure. How wonderfully you've given the night sky's light its chance to sparkle.
ReplyDeleteBEautiful picture!! I can just imagine sitting under that incredible sky and looking up to see those wondrous jewels of the night. FABulous!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful verses accompany your picture too :0)

I love this picture! It makes me dreaming of a cozy and moony place where I would like to stay. Beautiful colors and such a great technique!
ReplyDeleteMagical again. Did you use masking fluid or just watercolours? Love it.
ReplyDeleteI used watercolor and salt only on this one. I was pleased with the salt's effect, for sometimes (depending on humidity and pigment and paper) it is very temperamental and you never know what the end result will be! This time it came through for me:-)
DeleteIt´s fun to use salt! And it looks super. You did a god job there! Take care!
