crip·ple adj. \ˈkri-pəl\
being flawed, imperfect or lame.
Old English: crēopan: to creep.
An accurate description of this pencil's creative journey : creeping along, flawed, imperfect and lame... yet gaining joy, insight and sanity from the mere act of creeping.
That is so lovely... and the white parts of your composition match up so beautifully with the words about the quiet... you have such a flair for putting them together... will be thinking of you this weekend... good luck...xx
I agree with the other two comments here: Beautiful! Not only are the layers wonderful, drawing us in to the story, but the rich brown coming from the center seems to offer an embrace. The birds are beautiful and feel (to me) almost ghostly or like little flights of spirit.
Your beautiful poem is exactly what I thought this morning when I left my house going to work and heard the birds singing. The birds you have painted are beautiful!!! Magical!!! I can hear them chirping too :)
I love the birds! Beautiful dappled sunlight effect! There is also another magical effect where I can see them as 2D objects or 3D objects, which is so neat!
This is so beautiful and the prose matches it wonderfully. Thank you for the comments left on my blog. A question. Do you read something and get inspired from what you read specifically for making a painting, or paint then find something to match, or is it just an accumulation of knowledge that inspires your paintings?
It happens both ways:-) On this one and the unicorn below, I came across the quotes first. I painted the unicorn intentionally to fit the quote. But with the birds, after having finished the them, I realized they fit the quote, and matched them. But sometimes I just paint whatever, and the quotes (new or accumulated over the years) follow:-)
