journey

watercolor

"And so my prayer is that your story
will have involved some leaving and some coming home,
some summer and some winter...
My hope is your story will be about changing,
about getting something beautiful born inside of you
about learning to love a woman or a man,
about learning to love a child,
about moving yourself around water,
around mountains, around friends,
about learning to love others more than we love ourselves,
about learning oneness as a way of understanding God...
It might be time for you to go.
It might be time to change..."
~Donald Miller

    1. See, that is me on my way to your house:-) It'll take me a while to get there (as the little Beatle Bug often suffers mechanical issues... and the driver has her own issues...) but no doubt a joyous silky frog will meet us there;-)

  6. What a stunning piece! Love the effects you create in your watercolours, like on the road surface here, and the colours are gorgeous. I've started getting more into watercolours a few months ago, but I'm often struggling, but your work is really inspiring!

    2. PS: the textures are created with salt on the watercolor when the paint is still wet - but not too wet.

    1. I guess part of what I like about watercolor is that it dries pretty quickly - especially when all the ceiling fans in the house are going full blast:-) It did take coming back to it several times, though, for want of shadows and texture. But that is always my struggle: the bulk goes quickly, but the details (and the unknown of when the details are enough)can swallow me.

    2. OH, it took about 2 weeks on and off (lots of staring at it during the OFF times) from start to finish.
